These bands minimize the probability of damage to soft-shelled claws and maximize the quality and flavor of the meat. There are different grades of rubber bands for the claws. A flexible band is used for soft-shelled lobsters. A tighter band is used for hard shells. Alliance lobster bands and crab bands exhibit excellent cold resistant properties while maintaining strength and stretch.
